10/28 Pics from the Weekend

Morning friends!

Hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Monday morning :)

I still haven't given up on my morning bike rides yet - I braved the gale force winds this morning. I think this may be the last week that I bike, though. Sad trombone.

Pics from the Weekend

It's another busy day at work, but I'll be back this afternoon with a little workout for you all! In the meantime, here are some pics from my weekend.

Dinner at the Black Tomato in the Byward Market with my friend Laura.
I went all out and had duck confit. Delish!

We finished our meals with a little port, 'cause we classy ladies like that ;)

Another green juice to bring to my little sister's rugby game. I used:

1/2 cucumber
2 apples
1 head of broccoli
1 cup kale

Rugby = hardcore, but its a lot of fun to watch...

Group huddle - they're headed to the semi-finals next week! So proud :)

All bundled up

My parents place all decked out pour l'halloween!

Pre-hot tub selfie

And then a skype date with my Momster by the roaring fire. In heaven!

Sweet potato purée baked inside oranges at my Mom's cousin's place for dinner with the fam.
So delish!

And an old fashioned ham.

Have a great Day!!!

10/6 Pics from the Day

Pics from the Day

I started off the day with some delicious french toast and mango

Then braved the pouring rain to watch my little sister's rugby game

Poor Bella was not impressed

Such an intense game, but they won! They're now second in the league :)

My Stepdad would pace up and down the field to follow all the action. So good.

My beautiful little sissy

My sister and her friend, rockin' it out in the rain

We stopped and watched the guys game afterwards (they are SO intense) but we eventually got sick of the rain and went home

All decked out for the fall season

The best way to warm up after a freezing cold afternoon!!

Rat #1 and #2

Pickles giving me the stink-eye

Shrine of pumpkins

Home sweet home

We take our hors d'ouvres seriously

Marinated salmon, sweet potato fries, broccoli and cauliflower with cheese sauce (I couldn't resist...)

You gotta love any weekend that ends with sprinkles :)

10/6 Prep and Fitness for the Week

Hi friends!

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!! I spent the afternoon watching my little sister's rugby game. In the pouring rain. Now thats what I call dedication ;)

My stepdad rockin the two-tiered umbrella(ella...ella)

Prep for the Week

Since I am leaving on Friday after work to go to my grandparents place for Thanksgiving weekend, I am trying to use up the rest of the produce in my frigo.

On my list of prep for this week:
  • Brown rice
  • Tomato sauce (used the last of my Popster's garden tomatoes)
  • Roasted sunchokes (recipe to come soon!)
  • Chopped veggies
  • Hummus
  • Breakfast oatmeal muffins

Fitness for the Week

Since my foot is starting to feel a bit better, I am going to try and start doing a bit more pilates-style workouts to work on flexibility and core work this week.

Monday: Core and cardio

Tuesday: Lower body

Wednesday: Core and cardio

Thursday: Arms and back strengthening

Friday: Total body

Saturday: Active rest day - hike and...eat turkey

Sunday: Active rest day - hike and...eat some more turkey

I'm still a bit scared to do anything more than walk short distances on my foot yet, so no running yet! I'm not going to lie, I can't wait to get out for another run soon!! Maybe next week :)

Question of the Day:

  • What's on your fitness schedule for this week?

I don't usually write down the specific exercises that I'm going to do every day, I just plan on the general area/activity that I want to do for each day of the week and then brainstorm for the workout moves the day of :)
