30/10 Friday Faves

Herro!!!

Me again :)

I went all-out and had not one, but TWO breakfasts this morning!

I attended the 30th annual LEAF's Persons Day Breakfast bright-n-early, which is held in commemoration of the Person case that acknowledged women as people in Canada.

Real talk.

Afterwards, I bused over to Flapjacks for a brunch date with a friend I hadn't seen in foreverrr - aka before I was in India.

Crazy cray!

I've been there before, and love everything about it - the decor, the plaid uniform for all of the servers, the fact that almost everything on the menu involves pancakes and maple syrup, AND their mimosas come in mason jars.

Need I say more?

Also, fun fact: my friend's older bro is the owner! I know, I've got connections ;)

Anywho, we had a great time catching-up, there's nothing like seeing a good friend after a (much too) long time apart!!

Friday Faves

I'ma keep it short'n'sweet this week:

#1 - 'Hello' by Adele

All of the feels.

#2 - Colourful Wigs

Yep, this is happening. Because...why the heck not?!?

#3 - Homemade Nightlight

Okay, so obvi I don't condone reckless candle-leaving habits, but we've been keeping this bad boy (*ahem* Peter the pumpkin) in our room, and I lurrrve seeing it all lit-up and spooky-like!

I know, I'm a huge wimp.

Anywho, that's all for me for now - hope you all have an amazing night, a wunderbar Halloween day, and I'll be back at the end of the weekend with some pics & my fitness for the week!

  • What are YOUR faves these days??

C'est L'Halloweeeeen!

Morning friends!

I had a blast-from-the-past workout this morning.

It's been great getting back on here and going through all of my 'old' workouts and recipes...giving me all sorts of fitspiration!

Okay, fine, this is from the summer...but we don't have a good tall mirror in our place yet...AND I felt the same as I did here!

C'est L'Halloweeeeen!

Ermagerd. You guys. I don't know if you realized this, but I LOAF Halloween - I mean, how amazing is it to have a pseudo-holiday filled with costumes, candy and dancing with friends??

Answer: Super Amazing.

This year, I am taking some artistic leeway and dressing-up as a peacock.

Aka - all blue everything + one lonely peacock feather.

Sad trombone.

But never fear, I have an eggcellent history with animal costumes, so it will all work out swimmingly.

One of my besties is coming over tonight to get all fancied-up, then we're heading to the uOttawa med/law party (yes, we really are pretentious like that) SO EXCITED to dance my bottom off. All. Night. Long.

On a side note, did you know that there was such a thing as white pumpkins?? Me neither.

Hope you all have fun pre-Halloween shenanigans, or curl up with a solid scary movie at least!

[Note: I am the WORST with scary movies, so we watched the Adams Family as we carved our pumpkin. For reals]

Loves it.

  • What are YOU up to for Halloween this year?? Do you loaf it as much as I do...??

29/10 Fitness for the Week

Hi friends!

It's me again!! Teehee. I'm like a giddy little school girl, I'm so excited to be blogging again!

What this says about the current amount of excitement in my life, I'm not sure. But I'ma ignore that for now ;)

Fitness for the Week

H'okay, so here's what has/will be happening this week:

Monday: Run

Wednesday: I had planned on another run day, but it was super wet and miserable outside, so I did a HIIT workout instead

Thursday: Run

Proof that I actually did it - I even saw a friend en route!

Saturday: Long and slow run, post-Halloween shenanigans

Sunday: Active restday

Well, that's all for me for now - I have a date with my computer for the rest of the day...its paper-writing season!

  • What do YOU have planned for the rest of the week??

I'm Back!!

Hello friends!

Well, it's been a while and a half.

Since my last post, I travelled through northern Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore, and Indonesia;

I survived my first year of law school (for reals);

Completed an internship in northern India;

Annnnd I started my masters in international affairs

So, I'm now back in Ottawa and lovin' the crisp air, fall romp-arounds, and learning ALL OF THE THINGS!!

Despite all of the changes and experiences that have happened in my life since my last post, I've realized that I've missed this little piece of the cyber-sphere that I call my own.

So I'm back :)

What you can expect from this blog going forward:

- Workouts: My fave thing about this blog was how it kept me accountable with my planned workouts, which means you get to hear alllllllll about them too ;)

- Recipes: I've accumulated some delicious food ideas during my sabbatical and I can't wait to share them with you!!

- Travel: As I mentioned, I've frolicked around a few places over the past year and a half, and I have been dying to put up posts about all the cool things that are out there for you guys to try out yourselves!

- Bits-n-Pieces: As per usual, expect to have a random medley of 'other' things thrown in the mix. What can I say, I don't like labels...

All that to say...I'm glad to be back!! See y'all on the flip-side with an update on my workouts for the week!
